Construction is well underway at The Benson Hotel (formerly Faculty Club). Recent and upcoming milestones include:
- Tower Crane is up!
- Grading and excavation is complete, as are the shoring and lagging activities.
- Permanent transformer has been set and is operational.
- Drilled caissons are underway and will be the focus of construction for the next 4 weeks.
- Most caissons are 36″ in diameter and have been running 42-46 feet to bedrock.
- Grade beams, mats, columns and foundation walls will follow shortly after.
Matt Armstrong has been leading the charge on a very involved BIM coordination. The efforts he has coaxed from the subs is outstanding and the progress he has made on the model is invaluable and nothing short of amazing.
