Cottonwood Public Works Facility Completed

September 11, 2018

Hyder has received the temporary certificate of occupancy for the Cottonwood Public Works Facility. Although this is our first project for the Town of Silverthorne, we have completed many projects for owner Tom Daugherty, who worked for the Town of Breckenridge for many years.

This 16,000 square-foot, $7.2 million new public works facility incorporates the fleet and utilities division. The building houses various storage bays, work bays, wash bay, office space and storage space. The structure is primarily split-faced block and a steel frame. The roof elements are a combination of pitched and flat roofs. The site is generally flat and an asphalt driveway surrounds the new building.

This project required extensive coordination of equipment installation. Most of the equipment—such as vehicle lifts, cranes, the compressed air system, and fluid piping and pumping—was owner-supplied and installed. Hyder was able to identify potential issues early and avoid tearing out any drywall at the end of the project.
