Pioneer Crossing Restaurant on Peak 7
About the Project
This 17,000 square-foot restaurant is a heavy timber and steel frame structure with seating for 490 patrons and includes ski patrol facilities and a commercial kitchen. The project is at 11,400 feet (the second highest on-mountain restaurant in the country), adjacent to the Independence lift, on Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 7. The project overcame many challenges in addition to the schedule, including unique weather (wind, snow, and lightning) and complicated access (via a treacherous single-lane road and the ski lift).
