Director of Estimating

Robbie Miller

Robbie oversees the estimating department and ensures that owners are provided with consistent and reliable budgets so they can make informed decisions regarding their projects. He manages the estimating staff, coordinates with project executives to review estimates for completeness and accuracy, and develops our estimating systems to enhance production and precision.

The foundation for Robbie’s construction career was set growing up in rural Idaho where construction and farming were part of everyday life and occupied most of his summers through high school. This expanded to labor, framing, and carpentry work on custom homes throughout college which gained him hands-on exposure to nearly every trade. Robbie graduated with a BS in Construction Management from Boise State University in 2001.

Robbie began his professional career as a Project Engineer for a national general contractor on medical and retail campus developments before transferring to a mid-sized developer-builder as a Superintendent overseeing construction of new mixed-use buildings and site developments. This turned into a Project Manager role until Robbie found his real passion for preconstruction and estimating, where he has since worked for more than 15 years.

"All five of our Hyder Way principles are critical for our success but one of our team’s great strengths is the willingness to give and receive support for the betterment of the team. We will always step up and do what it takes to help one another overcome any challenge."

Life Outside Hyder

“My wife and I are both from Idaho but met at a music festival here in Denver and have made Colorado our home. We have two young daughters who keep us on our toes and bring so much joy to our lives with their energy and enthusiasm. Anything outdoors in nature makes me happy. Winter means snowboarding or skiing and summer means hiking and spending time outdoors. My family started snowboarding in 1991, back when we were often the only snowboarders on the hill, and I still feel the same joy every time out on my board or skis. We now get to share those experiences as a family with our kids and seeing the smiles on their faces is just as satisfying to me as any powder day.”
