Vail's Front Door

Vail's Front Door, the $130 million, 300,000 square-foot redevelopment at the bottom of the Vail ski area included a one-eighth mile underground Forest Service access road and a 200-space, four-level subgrade parking structure with fourteen loading docks, all on a zero-lot line, five-acre parcel.

The project also includes thirteen four-story custom homes with underground parking, thirteen individual elevators, a 23,000 square-foot luxury spa, a 30,000 square-foot skier services building, a 12,000 square-foot private club with top-of-the-line amenities for VIP guests, and more.

In 2008, Vail's Front Door was awarded the Associated General Contractors' prestigious ACE Award for the top project over $60 million.

The project site, located at the base of Vail Mountain, presented countless logistical challenges... effects of weather on productivity, delivery delays, manpower allocation... that Hyder met head on and without excuses. Their ability to complete mountain projects on time and on budget is the reason we’ve used Hyder on multiple on-mountain projects.
