Tom has been with Hyder for 29 years, and as President, ensures that our performance meets or exceeds our clients' expectations. He not only monitors the day-to-day status of the firm's construction activities, but also evaluates the general business climate and stays abreast of technological advances so our clients get the best possible construction services. "In a project," he says, "if the bottom line looks good but our client isn't completely satisfied, we have not been successful."
Tom learned the construction business the old-fashioned way — from the ground up. Working every summer as a laborer during college, he gained valuable hands-on experience on a variety of projects, including residences and large commercial facilities. After graduating from the University of Colorado, Tom worked as a construction foreman in Colorado and California. In 1987, he joined his father, Neil, in the purchase of Hyder.
Tom and his wife have two children and two dogs. He enjoys golf, biking, running, traveling, and many of Colorado's craft beers — the colder, the better.
