Hyder Completes Two Successful Vail Projects
April 2, 2013
Hyder completed two Vail projects this winter, both on time: the Mid-Vail Gondola Storage Building and the Lion Square Lodge South Building Renovation.
Have you been enjoying the mountains' snow? The Mid-Vail Gondola Storage building sure has! The Vail Resorts project completed last November and has been making the most of this ski season! To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Vail installed a new One Gondola to replace the Vista Bahn Lift and reduced the ride time from 9 minutes to 7.5 minutes. The gondolas have heated seats and every night they need to charge and be protected from the elements; Hyder completed the site work and storage building to house them at the top of the lift. The project was designed by Zehren and Associates.
The Lion Square Lodge South Building Renovation also wrapped up this winter and offers Vail hotel rooms and condominiums at the base of Vail Mountain and Vail Gondola in Lionshead Village. The building renovation includes exterior upgrades such as the addition of decorative roof gables, stucco improvements, exterior painting, balcony upgrades and a roof replacement. The exterior upgrades tie the South Building to the previously renovated North Building. The roof houses 40 solar panels to supply hot water for domestic use, pools and hot tubs. An additional elevator in the main lobby serves all 7 floors. The project was designed by Melick Associates.
