Meet Our BIM Manager

May 6, 2011

Hyder Construction is proud to announce the appointment of Michael Dire as BIM Manager.

Michael brings a Master's in Architecture, several years of design experience working for an architecture firm and over 18 years of construction field experience to his new role. This unique combination of extensive architectural design and hands on construction knowledge allows him to grasp the entire scope of a project and bind the design and construction teams into a collaborative and effective workforce.

Michael’s BIM software knowledge and his design sensibilities provides Hyder with the tools necessary to effectively communicate with design teams and clients in the early stages of project design and preconstruction.

Michael’s construction experience provides him with the background to communicate constructability and coordination issues between designers, engineers and subcontractors, and will allow Hyder to realize the full benefit of each BIM model in the field amongst Hyder and subcontractor personnel.

We are fortunate at Hyder to have Michael acting as a ‘construction managing architect’ to lead the virtual construction effort on our preconstruction team. We are equipped to assist clients and design teams to develop detailed plans and guidelines that are required for cost effective architecture and we have acquired tools required to manage a better project delivery.

Prior to his appointment as BIM Manager, Michael worked in the field with Hyder on the $130 million dollar Vail’s Front Door project and on the recently completed Four Seasons Resort in Vail, CO.
