Matt Huelskamp

As President, Matt ensures that our performance meets or exceeds our clients’ expectations. He not only monitors the day-to-day status of the firm’s construction activities, but also evaluates the general business climate and stays abreast of technological advances so our clients get the best possible construction services. “My number one goal,” he says, “is to deliver on our mission of Inspired People Creating Loyal Customers.”

Matt has been in the construction industry for 19 years and with Hyder for the last 15. He is a two-time University of Denver grad with an undergraduate degree specializing in Real Estate and Construction Management as well as an Executive MBA. He’s actively involved in several professional organizations within the Denver business community including serving as a board member on the Associated General Contractors of Colorado as well as the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation where he sits on the Board of Governors.

Matt and his wife live in Littleton and have three children (two boys and a girl). They are active runners and when not working you will likely find Matt skiing bumps or out on the golf course.

Continuously Improve

“Goal setting has been a big part of my life ever since my dad and I wrote annual goals together beginning in grade school. I strongly believe what gets written down and measured has a much higher likelihood of getting accomplished. I also believe that all aspects of my life, including business leader, husband, father, friend, and athlete, should always be improving and I have goals written down and focused on each. We push every employee at Hyder to continuously improve in both their professional and personal lives by promoting goal setting and a focus on continuous improvement.”

Life Outside Hyder

“I got married right out of college at 23 years old to Josie who is a banker, runner, tennis player, skier, golfer, and amazing wife and mother. I have three kids, Jake, Ben, and Stella who, outside of school, are active in lacrosse, soccer, swimming, golf, and skiing. Especially skiing. We have been skiing together as a family since each kid was three or four years old. There’s nothing better than watching the independence, competitiveness, risk-taking, fear, appreciation for nature, and pure enjoyment that skiing creates in them.”
