Three Hyder Projects Win Awards This Fall

Hyder has won awards this fall for three of the landmark projects we completed this year, Blue Moon RiNo Brewery and Restaurant, Room & Board Denver Retail Store Expansion, and Firstbank Headquarters Expansion.

Blue Moon RiNo Brewery and Restaurant
Award: 2016 AGC ACE Awards, Under $10 Million – General Contractor, Merit Award
This brewery and restaurant, designed by Roth Sheppard Architects, converted an industrial warehouse in the hip and brewery-saturated RiNo district. The 30,000 square-foot modern space includes a twenty-barrel brewing system, several forty- and sixty-barrel fermenters used to supply the 400-seat restaurant and tap room, and thirty tap lines. The location also has a stage area for live music and an outdoor patio. The brew house has the capacity for up to 10,000 barrels per year with another 2,000 barrels in their special pilot brewery. In addition to their trademark Blue Moon beer, they intend to have up to 24 different types of beers on tap, all brewed in this facility. Guests to the new brewery can walk in, grab a beer at the bar, and take a self-guided tour around the open brew house.

Room & Board Denver Retail Store Expansion
Award: 2016 Mayor's Design Awards, Distinctive Denver, Winner
The Room & Board expansion project, also designed by Roth Sheppard Architects, consisted of demolishing and removing an existing 2-story structure and replacing it with approximately 28,000 square feet of new space, including a covered garage/parking area, a second story show room with exterior balcony, and a third story roof top space for outdoor furniture settings, hosting gatherings and parties. The roof top space has a 60-foot-long reflecting water feature and offers beautiful panoramic views of Cherry Creek, Downtown Denver, and the mountains.

FirstBank Headquarters Expansion
Award: 2016 ENR Mountain States Best Projects, Office/Retail/Mixed-Use, Merit Award
This two-phased project, designed by RNL Design, includes a parking garage and office addition. The first phase of the expansion was a new 600-stall precast concrete parking garage behind the office. The second phase is a 126,000 square foot Class A office addition. The project highlights include a top-of-the-line board room, fitness center, rooftop amenity deck, and large courtyard. The lobby entrance will be completely new, featuring extensive millwork. The addition is a steel structure with a unitized curtain wall and brick façade. The project is targeting LEED Gold and utilizes state-of-the-art mechanical, electrical, and lighting equipment.
